Last calendar week I had a chance to take a stroll up theHigh Linein New York City , and I ca n’t believe I hold back this long ! For those of you who are unfamiliar with it , the High Line is a public ballpark and walkway work up on a set of freight line elevated above street stratum on the West Side of Manhattan . Since it was built / planted ( start in 1999 ) , it ’s become a major attracter and holidaymaker attraction , too .
I started at the lowly end and walked up , but I have no idea how far I get before turning around . The walk was full of happy , relaxed multitude , either walk and talking or lounging on bench , patches of grass , or stadium seating area overlooking the street below . The planting were SPECTACULAR .
I was in complete beloved by the time I left , and I ca n’t wait to go back . These photos do n’t do it justness ( lot of sunlight = forged photo ) , but will give you a pocket-size sentience of the space / experience . Enjoy ! And permit us know if you ’ve been , and what you care about it .
