Allen died all of a sudden yet peacefully on June 10th in hospital , surrounded by his loving married woman of 65 years , Shirley Monsma , and his daughters and son - in - legal philosophy , Connie and Rick Bradt and Audrey and Peter DeJong .
Born in Broeksterwoude ( Broeksterwâld ) , Netherlands , in 1934 , Allen was a kind , menial , and close man who took risks , get it on his family deeply , and believed in operose work and the goodness of people .
