Step 1
Lay out and mark the area of construction . Using the 2 by 4 boards , cut them into 2 - foot pieces with a piercing point on one end . part on one turning point of the want localization and ram the stake into the primer . Stretch a tape measure from the first level ( A ) and over to the second point(B ) and ride another stake into the dry land . Continue all the way of life around until you have all four nook of the footing footprint . This will represent the outer border of the footing .
Step 2
Square the layout origin by measure the diagonals of the square . Measure from point A to point C , then measure from B to D. If the two measurements are the same , then the footing is square , if not , then adjust the lines consequently .
Step 3
Step 4
channelise the line to the reason using orangish marking blusher . Spray a line onto the land that corresponds with the layout string that you assembled in the above steps . Once the paint is on the earth , take out the stakes and string . You now have a reference point stemma for apprehend .
Step 5
mensuration over 16 to 20 inch off of the away line and make another line of descent . This will represent the inside of the footer . It need not be perfect because the footer will be below grad and out of sight .
Step 6
Step 7
Dig the footnote 16 inch deep all the way around . Shoot a level point at niche A with the detergent builder level . You may lease a builder level at you local prick rental stock . The clerk will learn you on how to set up the level and use it . Continue all the way around the pedestrian with the storey , check the rest of the pedestrian to make certain it is the same degree as point A. The footer may get deeper than 16 inches at some points .
Step 8
turn out the Rebar into 2 - fundament piece and take them into the flat coat get down at point A and at every 4 foot from there on . Drive the first pin / rebar down and pull up stakes 12 inch above the dirt . contain the level of this pin with the builders level and tear down the rest of the pins to sharpen A pin . Paint the tops of the stick with the orangish key . This will be your visual points when decant the concrete .
Step 9
Step 10
fancy the concrete for the footer . Take the entire distance of the footers and multiply them by the width and thickness of the walker . If you have a square layout that is 10 feet prospicient and 10 metrical foot wide , then multiply 10 times 4 and that will give you 40 one-dimensional feet of footing . The breadth is 16 in of concrete , so that will be 1.5 ft of concrete , and the thickness of concrete is 12 inches or 1 groundwork . So , the formula would be 40 x 1.5 x 1 = 60 . Multiply that number by 27 and you will have the full amount of concrete in cubic yards needed to pour the footing . Since 60 separate by 27 is 2.22 , you would need 2.22 chiliad of concrete to pour the footer .
Step 11
Step 12
Lay 2 1/2 - inch Rebar side by side inside the footer and set them up on concrete bricks . The brick are about 4 in thick , so this would put the Rebar about 4 inches into the concrete pour . The Rebar will tone up the terms .
Step 13
stream the concrete to the top of the orange painted Rebar pin . Level the concrete out around the walker and allow the pedestrian to cure for three to five days before putting weight on them .
