Seven years ago I wrote a little leaflet titledCreate Your Own Florida Food Forestandannounced it here on my blog .
It is a abbreviated manifesto , sharing the joy of creating two unlike Florida food forests , one in North Florida , and one in tropical South Florida and urging other gardeners to do the same .
This petty Holy Scripture took off and became quite popular , inspiring many food timber project across the state as well as in the Caribbean .
Two year ago , armed with a large addition in experience and knowledge of plant species , I decided to re - write and thrive that little booklet into a much larger – and heavily illustrate – book that included a giving listing of species and growing peak , as well as more practical hands - on selective information about planning , building grime , and how a food forest grows over time .
I also sent out a call for artist , invite anyone and everyone to submit draught to instance this ambitious fresh edition . Over fifty artists responded , submitting a sum of two hundred beautiful pen and ink illustrations .

The undertaking became so complicated that I had to enlist my sister Christi to assist me organize the projection , as well as get my typesetter and graphic designer Matthew to help oneself me put together what had become a extremely illustrated interior .
