I spent last hebdomad at the Independent Garden Center Show at the Navy Pier in Chicago . To say the upshot was overwhelming is an understatement .

The tradeshow spanned five acres and was occupy with C of seller ready to take society that will stock the shelves of local garden centers from coast to seacoast . It seems I walk every aisle and looked at every intersection , because I was sure timeworn enough at the remainder of the three - day show .

One of the most democratic closure was at the windowpane of the Burpee food motortruck . Burpee representatives give out vegetable “ shots ” as a direction to present the Grow Anywhere Tour and to help sustain weary shoppers .

Burpee is a well - established brand do it for itsinnovative approachto gardening and this term of enlistment is another path the company plans to get more refreshful veggie to people around the state .

The tour begins in March and will stop in areas of 25 cities where there are people , but petty tonic green groceries . The go will circulate 13,000 veg plants and 40,000 pound of produce . Watch for selective information about the tour starting early next year .

Another unexampled introduction from Burpee is its line of grafted tomato plant . These heirloom tomatoes , part of Burpee ’s Home Gardens line , will make it well-situated for gardeners to reap bigger crop of flavorful heirlooms in their home garden .

One of the vegetable horticulture trends I remark at the show was the gravid number of constitutional fertilizers and innate pest restraint products . constituent gardeners should have a good selection to choose from next twelvemonth .

I also find there were more products aim at modest - space vegetable gardening , including new approach to patio gardening and upright garden .

Some of the products I thought especially attractive were the Home Allotment planters from Burgon & Ball . These planters include a planting bag that fits inside a willow planter allowing gardeners to grow greens , potatoes and large vegetables in containers outside the kitchen room access .

Do any of these new horticulture idea invoke to you ?
