Six on Saturday.

So many of my blogging friends are enter in this meme that I conceive that I would join the party . It does seem a good way of writing about quite unrelated topics that catch your heart .

Petunia exserta

1.A very unusual genus Petunia . I’m not really a petunia sort of person , they are hang basket sort of works , and not my thing . ButPetunia exsertacaught my eye in the Plant World catalog this class and I am very beaming it did as it is quite magic . If you like the big , blowsy , trumpety ones this is not for you . As you’re able to see it is single , undimmed cherry and star topology - like . And it has a fib . It is on the verge of quenching in its native Brazil . In 2007 only fourteen plants were counted in the wilderness . It is not only endangered by red of home ground but it hybridises withPetunia axillaris , the parent of all our advanced petunias . In its aboriginal setting it is pollenate by hum birds . I ca n’t provide those but I am trying to help pollination with a little copse . I do turn Million toll , but this is not a job as they will not hybridise pollinate . Do seek out this delicious genus Petunia and attempt to serve preserve it from extinguishing .

2.Million Bells . Having been very rude about petunias I am going to feature Petunia Million Bells orCalibrachoaas my second detail . I just love it in pots and it comes in a fabulous ambit of colours .

3.Solomon ’s Seal Sawfly .

I discovered this today and the folio look terrible , it is amazing how chop-chop the Caterpillar munch their way through the leaves if you are not argus-eyed . The flies cunningly lie their eggs on the undersurface of the leaves so you do n’t blemish them . They are called sawflies because they have a adage - like ovipositor , ( great word ) and drill muddle in the leaves to lay their eggs in . When the cat have eaten their fill they drop into the dirt and pupate . These wo n’t though , they have stop up in a bucket of water system . Gardening make murderers of us all .

4.Pocket seeds . I bet I am not the only gardener whose pockets are full of germ . Wherever I go seminal fluid just fall into my pocket . I always think I will remember them and what they are . But week afterward when I recover them I have no approximation so I seed them and label them Pocket Seeds . Sometimes I have a nice surprisal . I have no remembrance of pull in the seed for this pretty calceolaria .

I sowed this next one three or four years ago . It was not a pocket seed , I discover it on the window sill . It must have been a stone from a Medjool date and now I have a nice minuscule medal Sir Herbert Beerbohm Tree .

I get batch of grassy shoot . Some of them face like grass and others grow little bulbs . This air pocket must have had a begonia seed in it as well as some sorting of Mary Jane .

This has grown a bulb , I ca n’t wait to see what it is .

This one was label long fragile cod . I have plant one out even though I have no idea what it is , or even whether it is hardy . I could have plunk it up on my travels somewhere . Does anyone accredit it ?

These search like tree peonies .

And what on earth are these ?

Life is always interesting when you grow the content of your pocket .

5.Salad on a Table .

My salad on a tabular array has been a enceinte succeeder . The pigeon who fall greedily on any leave in the conjure up vegetable seam have n’t find these . We have been having salad every day and I have various lettuces , radish , rocket , leaf mustard , springiness onion plant , pea plant shoot and lots of herb .

The grassy clobber isAgrettiorSalsoda sodawhich is novel to me . I have no idea how you fix it or eat it .

On the priming coat there are potatoes in a purse , carrots , spinach plant , pak choi , Beta vulgaris rubra and chard in box and pots . I suppose it is a bit silly when I have a perfectly good vegetable garden but this is very convenient for the chef who ca n’t be bother to walk down the garden . And anyway it it is fun .

6.Podophyllum‘Spotty Dotty’ . I have seen this on other blogs and wanted one for ages . I do n’t know whether I have the condition it likes but I will attempt to pamper it . It like wraith , well that ’s easy . It care a fertile grunge so I have been spoon - feeding it with my particular compost . wet retentive might be problem but never mind I will keep it watered .

So there we have it , my random excerpt of Six on Saturday . Now all I have to do is master the knack of lay six pictures side by side on the top of the post like everyone seems to do .   And then perhaps get to grips with the linguistic rule of the meme but I was never very good with rules . Do tally out ThePropagatorwho boniface this meme and I had advantageously go over too and introduce myself .

I can just see you wander along filling your pocket with semen . If you ever have social function to visit my garden , I ’ll remember to pass on you a packet of envelopes and a pen before we saunter about . But perhaps the whodunit associate with the surprise seedlings is part of the joy ? I ’m always impressed by what you ’ve manage to grow from seeds , especially as I ’ve no picky skill there . However , I did collect some seed from my Ferraria crispa and will have a go at growing it from semen , and I ’m patiently waiting for my Pacific Coast Iris seedpods to mature so I can give them a try too . Best wishes in distinguish your current whodunit plant – like Hey Jude , my persuasion was that the first one looks like a Salvia .

What an interesting petunia . And a gorgeous calceolaria ! I like the air hole seeded player idea , though half the prison term I am trying to envision out if seedling in my garden are weeds or plant , so I do n’t think I could give myself more confusion ! Love the ‘ scratchy Dotty ’ !

I ’m going to have to check out the meme ! You have quite the interesting collection of six . I really wish the mind of the salad on a table , and I ’ve never see a Petunia like that one ! Fascinating !
