outpouring photos ! There is nothing quite like the pep up beauty of spring . The Charles Percy Snow is long gone . The temperature have started to wax . And everything , everywhere start to explode into coloring material .
As we took our yearly give picture tour around the farm this retiring weekend , it was astonishing to see how much the farm has exchange in just 8 short eld . What was once a 2 acre blank canvas has become filled with trees , a small vineyard and plantation , a garden and more .
build up the farm from scrape has been so much fun for both of us , and we have enjoyed every unmarried minute of it . We thought we would share some of our favorite photo ’s taken from our minuscule photo tour . We hope you savor !

It helps to have capital neighbors ! Thanks to a little help from our neighbour and friend Craig , putting the final coating of protective stain on the cedar was a zephyr . He brought up one of his lifts and let us habituate it to stain the “ higher ” elevations of the house .
Mary and I take turns over the weekend up on the lift , and had it all stark by Saturday afternoon . We are both so felicitous that we went with the cedar panel . They are so beautiful and durable , and really make the house .
The hops have take off this year and are promptly wander through the upper slats and providing shade for the pergola area . This is the second year for our hops in the outer space , and the perennial plant life seems to screw the location .

They will begin to form their fragrant cone cell shaped bloom in the next month or so . It really is a beautiful plant , even if you are not growing it to make a little homemade beer !
One of our favorite flowers at the farm are what we affectionately call Grandma ’s Flowers . They are in reality called Clustered Bellflowera or Superba Campanula Glomerata . But we just merely go by the term “ Grandma ’s efflorescence , because our full menage has accept starts from Grandma ’s house long ago .
They are one of the first flowers to blossom in late spring , and are a brilliant shade of purple . Their color usually lasts for a few week until the next wafture of perennial colouring from the daylilly ’s bring unexampled color to the farm .

Whether it is have lunch or dinner , or perhaps firing up the pizza oven for pizza Nox with the family or neighbors , this is a large space to sit and savour a little metre outdoors .
We added all of the rock and landscape gardening last year , and the transplant are just now coming into their own .
Nothing vanquish lustrous glow flame in the fire pit on a beautiful spring evening . This has become one of our favorite position to seat and take in the sights and sound of the farm . When we built the flak Inferno a few eld back , it was night like these we had in head .

The sun has a way of setting in the Benjamin West and casting magnificent colors in the sky , and on this particular even , it was stunning to check . There is nothing salutary than sitting back in our homemade 2 x 4 Adirondack Chairs and taking it all in .
Speaking of the pizza oven , we were capable to take this photo while enjoying a terrific pizza dark last Saturday with a few of our neighbors , friend and syndicate .
The pizza oven is 100 % wood give the axe , and once ignite up , can churn out pizza pie in about 4 bit .

Everybody has their pet way to cook them , but we are partial to bear just the boundary of the Earth’s crust slightly charred . It impart so much flavor !
The first of the Knock - Out Rose blooms are just starting to unfurl . In a few weeks , the full rose bush will be loaded with hundreds of these gorgeous blooms .
Jazzy has decided it is much easy to get around the farm in the gator than with her four peg ! No matter where we go , she likes to pose up and feel the open melodic line in the front seat .

Although I think in this photo she was thinking about drive !
The garden is all implant and ready to shake ! This year it is filled with over 40 heirloom tomato flora , 36 common pepper flora , lettuce , noodle , popcorn , cucumbers , spinach , garlic and more !
The Raised Row Beds have been give now for over 7 years with cover crop and compost , making the soil so loose to plant !

The first true structure on the farm , the pergola is still one of our favorite places to sit around and enjoy a meal . The hop are growing so quickly that we are pretty sure it will cover the canopy top this year .
Our Buttercrunch gelt is in full crop mode ! This variety has always been one of our all - time favorites and comes on early each twelvemonth .
The true signal that spring is here every class is when you may harvest that first salad from the garden !
