Houseplants allow the gardening to continue all year

Today ’s GPOD is a reminder that a great garden does n’t just have to be outside , nor does gardening have to end when winter sets in .

I am Surinder Chadha , a resident of northern New Jersey . I am a Master Gardener who enjoys year - round gardening . Gardening has been my hobby for sixty - five year . Like most other horticulture hobbyists , I bask my outdoor summer garden . I am favorable to have an high-flown deck on three sides of my home that grant me an opportunity to enjoy a gravid outdoor summertime garden while avoid the rampant deer universe in New Jersey . In winter , I enjoy my indoor garden with a wide diversity of plants such as multiple varieties ofBegonia , spider plants(Chlorophytum comosum),silver inch plant(Tradescantiazebrina),Asparagus fern(Asparagussetaceus),Boston ferns(Nephrolepis exaltata ) , bougainvillea , Thanksgiving and Christmas cactus(Schlumbergerahybrids ) , Ficus , empurpled passionateness plant(Gynura aurantiaca),queen of the night(Epiphyllum oxypetalum),multiple varieties of nag plant(Crassula ovata),crown of thorns(Euphorbiamilii ) , Oxalis , and multiple mixture ofPhilodendronsuch as green , polka dot , aureate , and cleave folio . There are few other alien plant whose names I do not know .

These huge skylights allow in ton of lighter to allow Surinder ’s houseplant to thrive . But if you are n’t lucky enough to have that much natural luminance , remember that modern light-emitting diode ignitor bulbs produce ripe - quality light for plants and are very energy efficient , make them a practical choice to add light where you do n’t have windows .

There is a raft of interest right now in rare and unusual ( often variegate ) houseplants , but any houseplant that is healthy and thriving is a terrific addition to the house .

I love how the high ceilings earmark these hanging plant to trail to huge , dramatic distance .

Every corner of the home has houseplants , bring living and smasher to the space through the long winter .

What a magical blank ! I inquire how quondam some of these plants are . If you are impatient to have huge houseplants , lots of visible light and fertiliser will help . If you do n’t have a lot of swooning indoors , place your plant outdoors in a shaded spot for the summertime will help them bulge up quicker .

Begonias are often grown asannualsoutside , but many of them will make the conversion to houseplant for the wintertime easily and bring a lot of beaut . Plus , you could save on buy new annuals in the outpouring .

vast wanderer plants and pothos ( Epipremnum aureum ) make a beautiful curtain of super acid . Both of these plants are very easygoing to grow ( particularly the Scindapsus aureus ) and widely available , so there is every ground to get some for your own indoor blank space !
